Thermo Fisher, Singapore’s PRECISE Partner on Population-Scale Proteomics Biobank

Aim to harness proteomics to drive insight into real-time disease biology for application in earlier detection, prevention and personalized care.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has formed a strategic collaboration with Precision Health Research, Singapore (PRECISE) to support the PRECISE‑SG100K program, a national, population‑scale biobank study aimed at advancing earlier disease detection, prevention and personalized care through large‑scale proteomics.

The collaboration centers on applying integrated multi‑omic platforms and AI‑driven analytics to high‑quality proteomic and clinical datasets to improve biological pattern recognition, patient stratification and translational research outcomes as biobanks become core components of national health strategies.

“Proteomics at population scale represents one of the most powerful opportunities to understand disease in real time across the full continuum of health,” said Marc N. Casper, Chairman and CEO of Thermo Fisher. “By combining our deep scientific expertise with industry‑leading technologies, we are helping national health leaders translate complex biological data into insights that can fundamentally transform human health.”

Under the PRECISE‑SG100K program, Thermo Fisher will deploy its Olink Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) platforms alongside the Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometry system, complemented by Seer’s Proteograph Product Suite, to combine targeted protein measurement with deep, unbiased discovery proteomics at scale.

“National biobank initiatives require technologies that deliver both breadth and precision,” said Karen Nelson, Ph.D., Thermo Fisher’s Chief Scientific Officer. “This complementary strategy sets a new standard for multi‑proteomics analysis and empowers researchers to see true disease biology with speed and at scale.”
